We are excited to introduce you to our newest team member, Dr. Robert Johnson. Dr. Miller and Dr. Johnson have known each other, well, since the beginning! Dr. Johnson is Dr. Miller’s father and has been her biggest mentor and fan in her dental career. Dr. Johnson practices general dentistry in South Georgia and will be joining our team in the upcoming weeks. Dr. Miller and the team are excited to welcome him and to be able to provide more days and hours to serve you. We will now be offering some additional Friday appointments to fit your schedule in order to best serve you. Please take a minute to read a little more about Dr. Johnson below. Robert W. Johnson was born and raised in Albany, Georgia. He earned his associate degree from Albany Junior College, now known as Darton State College, in 1976 before attending the University of Georgia with a major in biochemistry, where he was recognized as one of the top 5% of students academically. In 1982, Dr. Johnson graduated with honors from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society, which recognized the top six students in his graduating class.
Among his postdoctoral achievements, Dr. Johnson was awarded Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1992 and Mastership status in 2003. Both awards require a total of 1,100 hours of continuing education in all specialty areas of dentistry and rigorous academic examination in all the specialties of dentistry. In 2008, he received his conscious sedation certificate from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.
Dr. Johnson is an active member of the American Dental Association® and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Johnson has also served as program chair for the Albany Area Perio-Restorative Study Group for over nine years. He is married to his beautiful bride, Teresa. Together, they have four children, Meigan, Walker, Wren and Brooks, along with four grandchildren and one dog, Carly. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and quail hunting. Dr. Johnson and Teresa are also active members of First United Methodist Church in Albany.
